Future Factory Floor Tour

Visit two facilities and see a glimpse of the future of manufacturing.
(Note:  dress is casual, wear comfortable clothing.  Closed-toe shoes are required as you will be on factory floor.)

MxD (formerly known as the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII))
MxD (which stands for manufacturing times digital) opened nearly 100,000 square feet of demonstration and collaboration space in May 2015.  MxD is where innovative manufacturers go to forge their futures. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, MxD equips factories with the digital tools and expertise they need to begin building every part better than the last.  As a result, our more than 300 partners from industry, academia and government increase their productivity and win more business.

mHUB is the largest and fastest growing innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing in the Midwest. Its mission is to develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem around physical products and hardware innovation, and accelerate industry growth by cultivating a community of collaboration and connectivity between innovators, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers.

Within its 63,000 square-foot facility, located in Chicago, mHUB provides the support of an experienced and talented community of product designers and developers, entrepreneurs, engineers, and manufacturers with workshops and labs.  Experience firsthand space on electronics, 3D-printing, plastic fabrication, metals, wood, and rapid prototyping, as well as a microfactory for small production runs.
